A route in childcare

October 24, 2022

Are you interested in childcare? Consider completing a childcare level 1 award in skills – a 17-week course starting on 3 November 2022 designed to provide you with an introduction to working in childcare and adult care. It also includes generic employability skills to build your confidence for the workplace. Develop your knowledge and understanding of children’s social, emotional, physical, intellectual and communication development. This course is National Open College Network accredited.

What you will learn on this course

  • Understanding the intellectual and language development of children from birth to eight
  • How children develop at different ages – how they learn and enjoy nursery rhymes and songs
  • How to support children develop their reading skills through books
  • Introducing age-appropriate games for their development – puzzles or musical toys.

What learners are saying

Mandip Kaur comments: “I learnt a lot during childcare level 1; my confidence levels and IT skills improved. The course really helped me to learn more about children behaviour, their development age, needs and what our roles and responsibilities as parents are so kinds develop properly in all areas.

“I really appreciate tutor’s help and encouragement throughout the course. Inderpreet is very dedicated and with good understanding of learners’ needs and levels. She is full of positivity and patience and created a good learning environment, giving everyone fair chances to express their views.”

Hear from your tutor

Inderpreet Golhar is looking forward to welcoming you to the course. She says:

“I have been teaching childcare for the past ten years. I thoroughly enjoy teaching. I find it very rewarding when students achieve a qualification and progress into further learning and/or employment. I inspire my learners to gain confidence so they can make their own decisions about their employment as well as give them life skills to progress onto higher level courses.”
